About this activity

Le Pouce hike is the third highest peak on the island.  It is one of the most iconic features of the landscape. The hike has wonderful views of the Port Louis area and the Moka Range. Le Pouce hike is frequently visited by Mauritians and tourists, including an 1836 summit by Charles Darwin. There are two ways to climb the mountain that is from Port Louis on the north side and Moka on the south side.

Most people use the south route since it starts at a higher height. The north path has better views, more shade, and a more gradual rise. It is a much longer trek. There is adequate public transportation at both ends, it is also simple to link the two paths and complete a round trip trek.
